1 The service

Retro Trivia is a free, live multiplayer trivia game: quick play, custom and private rooms, games against the AI, Kids modes, ranked modes with ratings and leaderboards, and parties with friends. We may add, change or remove modes and features, and some may be available only to some players or for a limited time.

2 Your account

• You must be at least 16 to create an account, or have a parent or guardian's permission. Kids modes are meant to be played with a parent or guardian, through their account and under their supervision.
• One account per person. Give us a real email address you can access, and keep it up to date.
• Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account; tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
• You can stop playing at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to office@tipstrike.com.

3 Player names and chat

Your player name and chat messages are seen by other players. Don't use them to:

• insult, harass, threaten or bully anyone;
• post hate speech, sexual content, or anything illegal;
• impersonate other people, players or us;
• share anyone's personal information, including your own;
• spam, advertise, or post links to scams or malware;
• give away answers to other players while a question is open.

We filter offensive language automatically and may change player names that break these rules. You keep ownership of what you write, and give us permission to show it to other players while providing the game.

4 Fair play

Trivia is only fun when it's fair. You agree not to:

• look answers up during a question, or use anyone else's help to answer;
• use bots, scripts, macros or any tool that plays or answers for you;
• team up with opponents, throw matches, or trade wins;
• use several accounts, or share one, to gain an advantage;
• leave ranked matches on purpose, or exploit bugs, instead of reporting them to us;
• interfere with the site: overload it, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or get around its limits and protections.

The game watches for signs of cheating, such as answers that are too fast to be real, and locks answers while the game window is in the background. Breaking these rules can lead to queue cooldowns, removed results, adjusted ratings, or the suspension of your account.

5 Ranked play, ratings and leaderboards

Ratings, tiers and leaderboard places measure how you play; they have no monetary value and can't be transferred or exchanged. To keep them meaningful, we may reset them (for example at the start of a season), correct them after a bug, or adjust them after cheating.

6 Our content

The game, its questions, design, artwork, the Quip mascot, sounds and code belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them to play Retro Trivia. Don't copy, scrape, resell or republish them, including the question bank, without our written permission.

We work hard to get every answer right, but questions can contain mistakes. If you spot one, tell us and we'll fix it. Mistakes don't entitle anyone to a different result.

7 Other services

"Sign in with Google" is provided by Google under its own terms. Links to other websites are for convenience; we're not responsible for their content.

8 Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, put other players at risk, or that we're required to close by law. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. You can stop using Retro Trivia at any time.

9 Availability and warranties

Retro Trivia is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We try to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors, and games in progress may occasionally be lost, for example during an update.

10 Liability

As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, ratings or progress. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

11 Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of Romania. If something goes wrong, please contact us first; we'll try to sort it out. If we can't, disputes go to the courts of Romania, unless the law of the country where you live as a consumer gives you the right to bring them there.

12 Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the game changes. The date at the top shows the latest version; we'll let you know in advance about changes that matter. If you keep playing after they take effect, you accept the new Terms; if you don't, you can close your account.
